It was a moment of praise and thanksgiving to God in Abia State University Uturu (ABSU), Thursday December 1, 2022, as the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M Ogbulu, accompanied by the entire university management gathered to thank God for a successful two years in office as the 8th substantive Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University.
 Preaching on the topic “Abiding Grace” during the interdenominational thanksgiving service held at the University Cafeteria, Apostle Jolly Onwukwe of the Apostolic church, Igboland Territory Nigeria said the service mark the beginning of better things to come to the University and assured that those who give thanks to God can never be put to shame.
Earlier  in his testimony, the celebrant and Vice Chancellor, Abia State University Uturu, Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu, said they are thanking God for all he has been doing for the University, commending the academic and non academic staff for their commitment and support to his administration.
 He recalled the intervention of God in many areas, particularly the security situation which brought negative publicity to the University for a while and how God, through the Governor and Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD, and other stakeholders brought the situation under control.
The Vice-Chancellor maintained that the welfare of staff and students remains the topmost priority of his administration and urged them to sustain the tempo of uninterrupted academic activities in the University and gradually, all arrears of salaries will be liquidated as well as other incentives that promotes the welfare of workers will be realized.
 In their remarks, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Professor Ogbonna Onuoha and the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Professor G. I. N Emezue, said Professor Ogbulu has shown equal love to all in the University and prayed God to grant him wisdom and good health to continue to pilot the affairs of the University.
 A former  Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ogwo E. Ogwo and the Chairman Isuikwuato local government, Hon. Chima Agbaeze in their goodwill messages, commended Professor Ogbulu for always remembering to put  God first in all he does and to thank him for his goodness  urging him not to relent on the good work he is doing in the University.
  Highpoints of the thanksgiving service were special songs by different Choral groups, rededication of the University to God and prayers for the Vice- Chancellor, principal officers,  State and the nation.
