The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Abia State University, His Excellency Senator Adolf Wabara, has commended the Eminent Governor and Visitor to the University, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D for the rare display of intellect and Executive humility at the Radio Classroom Programme, where he expertly taught Abia State Students Biology.
The Pro-Chancellor described the exercise as the first of its kind by any Governor in the State, even at this period of the Corona virus pandemic lockdown.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne, stated that the Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, as a natural teacher ,has mastered himself through the exercise of dexterity and resilience in acquiring quality education from the nursery to the apex, culminating in his Ph.D degree in Biochemistry at the young age of 30.
The Vice-Chancellor further stated that Governor Ikpeazu is a Leader fully equipped with unique family traits of professionalism and excellence, which account for the academic brilliance which he has brought into Governance, characterized by a holistic approach of massive Infrastructural and human capacity development, thereby adding intrinsic values into the body polity.
He described the Governor as a Quintessential scholar, who applied to the University as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, Probono, which was unanimously approved by the University Senate. As a member of an Academic Research team in the University, the Governor and his team have successfully published several Research works undertaken by the team.
The Vice-Chancellor attributed the achievements of the University Administration, under his watch, to the unprecedented support and scholarly guidance of the Governor, stating that as the University develops, so will the Governor develop academically and otherwise.
The Pro-chancellor, Senator Adolf Wabara, therefore, urged all Abians at home and in the diaspora to continue to support this Education-friendly and Excellence-driven Administration of the Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for greater exploits.
