The Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) centre in Abia State University has been described as a unique Centre of Excellence, designed to prepare the Students for greater Academic exploits.
It will be recalled that the JUPEB Programme is one of the new introductions of the *Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne* led Administration in Abia State University, which addresses the concern of Parents/Guardians whose children and wards are not able to gain admission immediately into Universities of their choice, to enrol for a one-year programme to sit for a National Examination that can qualify them for Direct Entry into any Nigerian University.
An enrollment of over 350 Students into the programme, from more than ten (10) States of the Federation, at inception, is an indication that the programme has achieved the desired purpose.
The Vice-Chancellor, *Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne*, who congratulated the Students for the wise choice of Abia State University for the programme has assured that the University Administration is prepared to offer Admission to as many of the Students that meet the stipulated requirements.
Still basking in the euphoria of recent full Accreditation status of the Centre, we enjoin Parents and Guardians not to let this rare opportunity elude their children and wards from getting the best of services from highly qualified and trained Academics by registering them in the Programme.
We also commend the University Administration for the provision of a State-of-the-Art model hostel facility for the JUPEB Students, with uninterrupted water, electricity, security, recreational facilities and profiling of the Students, as directed by the Governor and Visitor to the University, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D.
*ABSU JUPEB PROGRAMME*, a unique Centre of Excellence indeed.
