ICT Connectivity- A Major Breakthrough of the Professor E. Uche Ikonne led Administration in ABSU


On assumption of office, the Vice-Chancellor Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne, disclosed  his desire to create a fortified Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the University in line with global standards.
So far, the following uncommon achievements have been recorded:🔸 Introduction of e-Administration in the University.
🔸 Introduction of e-Senate, members now attend Senate with their laptops, paperless.
🔸 Setting up of workstations in almost all the Departments.
🔸 Seamless migration from the old website to a more robust and interactive website. 🔸 Updating and upgrading of the Computer Based Training Centre in the University.
🔸 Establishment of the Institute for Computer Studies annex at Umuahia location of the university. 🔸 Installation of additional high speed internet facility at Uturu and Umuahia location.
🔸 Redesigning of the University portal with the creation of accounts for individual lecturers and officials.
🔸 Automation of the Exams and Records Unit with the following attendant consequences
–  Reduction of human interface in the reconciliation of results.- Smart online issuance of academic transcripts.- Prompt release of results.- Online registration of courses, payment of school fees and allocation of hostels.
