The Ukwa East Traditional Rulers Council has decorated the Vice-Chancellor, Professor E. Uche Ikonne with their Royal Robe as “Nwafor Ndoki”, in recognition of his numerous achievements in the University, as well as the appointment of their sons in high positions of authority.

Speaking through the leader of the team Eze Ikeagwuchi Okeke during a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, the Royal Fathers said, the Ndoki people are happy with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ikonne for appointing their son, Professor O.M. Ogbulu as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) Academics, and for his kind disposition towards them at all times.

They also thanked the Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD, for appointing Professor Ikonne as the Vice-Chancellor, and for his positive transformation and development in every nook and cranny of the state.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ikonne said the glory of all his achievements or impact so far goes back to God, who gave him the opportunity, through the Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, who has given him every necessary support to succeed.

He thanked the Royal Fathers for the honour bestowed on him, and praised the commitment of their son, DVC Academic, Professor Ogbulu. The Vice-Chancellor equally prayed God for more wisdom for the Royal Fathers to care of their respective communities.

In a vote thanks, Eze Hycienth Okere Dike, expressed their gratitude on behalf of the Royal Fathers, for the reception accorded them and prayed the University grow from strength to strength.

The Principal Officers were present at the event.
