The Vice-Chancellor, Abia State University Professor E. Uche Ikonne has called on eminent sons and daughters of Uturu Community, to partner the University in developing infrastructures within the community.
Professor Ikonne made this call, when the Uturu Traditional Rulers Council paid him a courtesy call at the conference room of his office.
While thanking them and acknowledging the cordial relationship between the University and the Traditional Rulers, the Vice-Chancellor challenged them to reach out to prominent and wealthy uturu indigenes to look in the area of partnering institutions to build a University Guest House, as well as help develop other key areas.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, HRH, Eze Godwin Chimezie, Deputy Chairman, Uturu Traditional Rulers Council, who presented an address on behalf of the Council, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for his giant strides in developing the University and appointment of uturu indigenes in key positions, but called on him to also give more jobs opportunities to indigenes of Uturu as well as grant special University admission requests to Uturu Council of Ndieze.
In a vote of thanks, HRH Eze C.C. Nweke praised God, for bringing Professor uche Ikonne as Vice-Chancellor, within this period, pointing out, that his administration has enjoyed peaceful co-existence with the Uturu Community.
He prayed God to grant the Vice-Chancellor and the entire University management more grace to pilot the affairs of ABSU.
