The Vice Chancellor, Abia State University Uturu (ABSU) Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu has reassured that the University will continue to produce quality medical graduates that will compete with their counterparts all over the world.
   The Vice-Chancellor, who gave the assurance during the 5th induction/oath taking ceremony of One hundred and Sixty (160), 2019/2020  graduating Medical Laboratory Scientists of Abia State University Uturu, held at its Faculty of Law Auditorium, Umuahia Location, commended them for showing resilience, patience, and understanding over the unforseen circumstances that delayed the induction and reminded the graduands that they are entering another phase in their lives, hence the need to be focused and remain good Ambassadors of the University.
   The Vice-Chancellor congratulated them on their successes  and thanked the Governor and visitor to the University, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D, for his continued support to the University, as well as parents, for the sacrifices made to ensure they graduate meritoriously.
   Also speaking, the CEO/Registrar, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, MLSCN, Dr Tosan Erhabor, represented by the Director Medical Laboratory Sciences Regulation and Discipline Dr Uchimo Ashimedua described the Vice-Chancellor Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. ogbulu as a very resourceful, and prudent manager and Vice-Chancellor, best suited for the administration of the University in a time like these and commended the University for being one of the best in training Medical Laboratory scientists while charging the graduands to strictly follow the ethical standard guiding the profession.
   In their seperate remarks, the Provost College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Professor S. N Onwere,  and the Acting Dean Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science, Dr Okezie Okamgba, agreed that the graduands have been well trained on innovations and advances to bring more positive changes in Medical Laboratory Science practice. 
   Delivering a lecture on the topic “The contemporary Medical Laboratory Scientists: Challenges and Prospects” the induction lecturer, Professor Lawrence Chigbu, a Professor of Medical Microbiology, and Rector, College of Management and Health Sciences, Aba, described Medical Laboratory Science as crucial component in healthcare delivery especially in times of outbreak of epidermic and called for the strengthening of the Profession through regular training for the attainment of global standard.
  In his valedictory speech, the overall best graduating student, Oleka Samuel thanked ABSU management, their lecturers and parents for laying good educational foundation for them and promised to be good Ambassador of the University.
In a vote of thanks, the Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences. Professor O. C Ahuama, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and Management, for providing the conducive learning environment for training of the graduands, and expressed gratitude to the Registrar/Chief Executive of the Council, MLSCN, as well as those that contributed to make the event a success.
  Highpoints of the Induction/oath taking ceremony were the presentation of Licenses to the graduands and awards to the best performing graduands while three graduands that made First Class were given automatic employment.
The entire Management of the University, some senior Academics, and other notable personalities graced the event.
