The Story Change in ABSU- Students Welfare


On assumption of office the Vice-Chancellor Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne pledged to prioritize students welfare and was anointed their “Senior Course Rep”. So far, the relationship with the students is unprecedented.
🔸 Conducive environment for Teaching and Research.🔸 Construction of new SUG Secretariat, courtesy of the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.🔸 Renovation and equipping of hostels.🔸 Donation of vehicles to SUG and SRC.🔸 Regular supply of Municipal Services.🔸 Rancour free SUG Elections for 4years.🔸 Construction and renovation of State of the Arts Lecture theatres.🔸 Elimination of all forms of exploitation and distribution of  VC’s dedicated phone number to all students to send SMS at any point of need for assistance.🔸 Townhall Meetings with Students, uncommon with previous Administrations.🔸 Improved Security network and zero tolerance to cultism.🔸 Restoration of walkway streetlights.🔸 Prompt release of Results and issuance of Degree Certificates during Convocation Ceremonies.🔸 Online release of transcripts and ease of doing business.🔸 Regular attendance at Sunday Services on Campus with the Students along with Family members and Management.🔸 Regular conduct of Convocation Ceremonies, not combined.🔸 Improved Services of ABSU Medical Centre.🔸 Restoration of Dress code.🔸 Unprecedented 4years of uninterrupted academic activities, no form of Students demonstration.🔸 Increase in Admission quota by JAMB.Prompt mobilization for NYSC and increase quota for ABSU.🔸 Appointment of Students representatives  in Students related University Committees.
ABSU Students have so far excelled in National and International Competitions-🔸 Consistent First Class products at Law School.🔸 Came tops at All Nigerian Universities Debate Competition.🔸 Came tops at All Nigerian Universities Essay Competition etc.
