The President, Abia State University Women Association (ABSUWA), Barrister(Lady) Uzoamaka Uche Ikonne, has commended the State House of Assembly for passing the Abia State Genotype bill into law.
Barrister Uzoamaka, who is the wife of the Vice Chancellor, Professor E. Uche, and also the Permenent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, made this known, when she led a delegation of ABSUWA Executive, in acourtesy visit, to the House of the Majority Leader of the State Assembly, Chief Chinedu Orji, in Umuahia, as part of preparation for the forthcoming ABSUWA week at the University.
She lauded the immediate past Governor, Senator T. A Orji for ensuring equity in the State, while expressing appreciation to the Majority Leader, Chief Chinedu, for empowering the youths in various parts of the State.
Responding, Chief Chinedu Orji (Ikuku), thanked the delegation and praised the Vice Chancellor, Professor E. Uche Ikonne for his achievements in the University.
He stressed the need to maintain peace and equity in the State, advising those whom God has blessed to always remember to empower others.
Present, at the visit was the member representing Umuahia north constituency at the State Assemby, Hon.Kelechi Onuzuruike, and ABSUWA Executive members.
